Plan your King move
Check turning space
Explain how a moving vehicle would enter, stand and leave the property. Mention a shared drive, tight turn, overhead entrance or a gate that needs someone present. Send photos instead of guessing whether the truck will fit. Access arrangements and permission to use a neighbouring space need to be settled before the crew arrives.
List rooms and separate buildings
Include belongings in a basement, garage, workshop or other part of the property if they are moving. State whether each area has level access or steps. Keep the inventory focused on what is actually travelling, with clear photographs of large pieces. The selected vehicle should reflect the whole load rather than the number of rooms in the main house.
Identify pieces needing attention
Tell the team about glass, delicate surfaces, unusually shaped furniture and items with loose fittings. Measure narrow doors and record any piece that was assembled inside its current room. Do not assume that the route used to bring an item in still exists. The crew can discuss dismantling and handling when those details are known in advance.

Have one plan for arrival
A clear arrival plan avoids separate instructions from several people at the property. Name the person meeting the crew, identify the approved vehicle position and keep keys or gate controls ready. If work is happening at the same address, coordinate trades and deliveries so they do not occupy the carrying route. Ask about moving items that may need specialist equipment rather than assuming they fit a standard household move. Keep the agreed inventory available at the destination and note any changes before loading starts. For a separate cleaning visit, describe which rooms will be empty and who can provide access after the move.
Get your King moving quote
Start with your pickup and destination postal codes, preferred date and an inventory. Add photos of larger items and the route through each property. Optimum serves the GTA and beyond; this King guide does not represent a separate branch office. The team checks the details and availability before a booking is agreed.
Your questions, answered
Before you book
Should I send driveway measurements?
Send measurements if you have them, alongside clear photographs and details of gates or turns. They help the team assess the approach, but they do not replace checking the actual vehicle and safe access conditions before positioning the truck.
What does the hourly rate include in King?
Two movers, a vehicle, fuel, mileage, furniture assembly and disassembly, and insurance are listed in every moving package. Ask about the applicable coverage terms. HST and packing materials are additional, and the final total depends on billable time.
Is sending a quote request the same as booking?
No. A request starts the conversation. The team reviews the date, inventory and access, then discusses the price and scope with you. Availability and the booking details need to be agreed before the move is reserved.
Can I add packing or cleaning to this move?
Yes. Specify the rooms, items or cleaning tasks you want help with. These services are quoted separately from the vehicle package. Tell us whether you already have boxes and whether the cleaning space will be empty when access is available.
What if the inventory changes after I get a quote?
Send the revised list and any new photos before moving day. Extra furniture, another address or different access can affect the vehicle and expected time. The team can review the change with you so the agreed scope remains clear.
